Veuve Clicquots Vintage collection is unique for its use of wines vinified and aged in large oak casks, which adds strength and aromatic intensity. The cask-aged wines bring an additional complexity with their spicy notes and subtle roast coffee and toasted aromas. This wine stands out for its elegance, tension and energy. The first impression is of its tension, verticality and minerality, after which the wine unfolds its aromas of toast, roasted coffee beans and praline. The excellent structure makes this a fine, upstanding vintage. The nose offers citrusy notes of oranges, grapefruit and lemon zest, followed on the palate by an array of flavours from biscuit and dried apricot marmalade to dates, toasted almonds and honey-glazed hazelnuts.
